Imagine standing in front of a building that is still under construction.
The ground is covered with dust. Bags of cement are torn open. Sand and stones are scattered everywhere. Iron rods stick out from unfinished pillars. Some walls are only halfway built. There are piles of broken blocks, wooden planks, and construction tools lying around. The sound of hammers, drilling, and workers calling to one another fills the air.
If you knew nothing about construction, you might look at the place and say:
“What a mess! Is this building ever going to be completed?”
But then the owner arrives.
He does not panic.
He does not look at the scattered materials and say, “I have made a mistake. I should abandon this project.”
Instead, he looks beyond the dust, the unfinished walls, and the exposed iron rods.
He sees the finished building.
He knows what the architect designed. He knows where every wall will stand, where every door will open, and what the completed structure will look like.
The mess you see is not the end of the story.
It is simply evidence that work is still going on.
Now, look at your own life.
Maybe, sometimes, your life feels exactly like that construction site.
There are areas you wish were already finished. There are wounds you are still carrying. There are habits you are struggling to overcome. There are prayers you have prayed so many times that you are becoming tired of praying. There are dreams that seem delayed, doors that have remained closed, and questions that still have no answers.
And perhaps you have quietly asked yourself:
“Lord, when will I finally become the person You want me to be?”
Maybe you have looked at your failures and concluded, “Something must be wrong with me.”
But God wants you to know something today:
You are not God’s abandoned project. You are God’s work in progress.
The Bible says:
“Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.” – Philippians 1:6.
The dust does not mean the Builder has left.
The unfinished walls do not mean the plan has failed.
The noise does not mean there is no purpose.
The work is still going on.
God is shaping you through the seasons you don’t understand. He is strengthening you through battles you never expected. He is teaching you through failures you wish had never happened. He is removing things that cannot remain and building qualities that will prepare you for His purpose.
You may see unfinished pieces.
God sees the finished picture.
You may see the process.
God sees the purpose.
So do not give up on yourself because God has not given up on you.
The Builder is still at work.
The story is not over.
The work is not finished.
God is still working on “You”.
Today, surrender again and say:
“Lord, I am Yours. Work on my heart. Work on my character. Work on my desires. Remove what does not please You, build what glorifies You, and make me what You have called me to be. I will trust Your process in Jesus name – Amen”
