GOD HAS NOT GIVEN UP ON YOU.

Memory Verse:
“The LORD is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy.” – Psalm 145:8.

INTRODUCTION: THE TREE THAT REFUSED TO DIE.

Imagine a farmer who planted a young tree in his garden. He watered it, nurtured it and patiently waited for it to grow. But months passed, and the tree showed little sign of life. Its leaves dried up, its branches looked weak, and everyone who saw it concluded that it was dead.

One day, someone asked the farmer, “Why are you still wasting your time on that tree? Can’t you see that it is no longer growing?”

The farmer smiled and replied, “You are judging the tree by what you see on the outside. I know what I planted, and I believe there is still life within it. I will give it more time, nurture it again, and see what happens.”

What a powerful picture of God’s love!

Perhaps people have given up on you. Perhaps your past mistakes have made others lose confidence in you. Perhaps you have disappointed yourself so many times that you are beginning to believe you can never become better.

But hear this truth today:

GOD HAS NOT GIVEN UP ON YOU!.

  1. YOUR FAILURE DOES NOT CANCEL GOD’S MERCY.

Peter denied Jesus three times when the pressure became unbearable – (Luke 22:54–62). He wept bitterly, probably believing he had disappointed the Master beyond forgiveness.

Yet Jesus did not abandon him.

After His resurrection, Jesus restored Peter and entrusted him with responsibility in His kingdom – (John 21:15–17).

What does this tell us?

You may have failed, but failure does not have to be your final chapter. You may have fallen, but you can rise again. You may have disappointed God, but His mercy is still available when you genuinely repent and return to Him.

“For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again.” – Proverbs 24:16.

  1. GOD SEES BEYOND YOUR PRESENT CONDITION.

People may judge you by your present circumstances, but God sees what His grace can accomplish in your life.

Moses was a fugitive before God called him to lead Israel – (Exodus 2:11–15; 3:1–10).

David was an overlooked shepherd boy before he became king – (1 Samuel 16:11–13).

The Samaritan woman had a complicated past, yet Jesus met her, transformed her life and used her testimony to reach an entire community – (John 4:7–30, 39).

Never allow your past to convince you that God has no future for you.

Your history may explain where you are coming from, but it does not have to determine where God’s grace can take you.

  1. GOD IS STILL CALLING YOU BACK TO HIM.

Perhaps you have stopped praying because you feel unworthy. Perhaps you have abandoned fellowship because of guilt. Perhaps you think God is tired of hearing your prayers.

But listen to His invitation:

“Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow.” – Isaiah 1:18.

God is not inviting you to remain in sin. He is inviting you to repent, receive His forgiveness and walk in a new direction.

Do not allow shame to keep you away from the very God who can restore you.

Remember the prodigal son. When he returned home after wasting his inheritance, his father did not reject him. He ran to embrace him (Luke 15:17–24).

That is the heart of a loving Father!

  1. YOUR STORY IS NOT OVER.

You may be experiencing disappointment, rejection, financial hardship, family challenges, spiritual weakness or unanswered prayers.

But do not conclude that God has abandoned you.

The God who sustained Joseph in prison, strengthened Elijah in discouragement and restored Peter after his denial is still able to sustain, strengthen and restore you.

“The LORD will perfect that which concerneth me: thy mercy, O LORD, endureth for ever.” – Psalm 138:8.

Keep trusting Him. Keep obeying His Word. Keep growing in faith. Do not return to the things He has delivered you from.

God’s grace is not an excuse to remain where you are; it is the power to become what He wants you to be.

A MESSAGE JUST FOR YOU:
Pause for a moment and ask yourself:

  • Have I allowed my past mistakes to define my future?
  • Have I stopped believing that God can still use me?
  • Have I become discouraged because my prayers seem unanswered?
  • Have I allowed people’s rejection to make me feel worthless?
  • Have I withdrawn from God because I feel ashamed?

If any of these questions describes you, I want you to hear this:

YOU ARE NOT A WASTE OF GOD’S GRACE:
You are not too broken for His healing, too weak for His strength, too far gone for His mercy or too late for His restoration.

But you must make a decision today.

Get up again! Return to God! Forgive where you need to forgive. Repent where you need to repent. Rebuild where you have destroyed. Pray again. Believe again. Start again with God.

Do not let yesterday’s failure steal tomorrow’s testimony.

“People may have written you off, but God has not given up on you”.

CONCLUSION:
The farmer did not abandon the tree simply because it stopped producing leaves. He continued nurturing it because he believed there was still life within it.

Today, God is calling you to come closer, surrender your life and allow His transforming grace to work in you.

You may be wounded, but you can be healed.

You may be broken, but you can be restored.

You may have fallen, but you can rise again.

You may have lost your way, but you can return to the Father.

“Don’t give up on yourself when God is still extending His mercy to you”.

Your mistakes are not greater than God’s mercy. Your weaknesses are not greater than His strength. Your past is not greater than His power to redeem.

“GOD HAS NOT GIVEN UP ON YOU. DON’T GIVE UP ON GOD!!!”

A PRAYER OF RESTORATION:
Heavenly Father, I come before You just as I am. You know my struggles, my failures, my disappointments and the battles I fight silently. Forgive me for the times I have walked away from You and for allowing discouragement to weaken my faith. Thank You for Your unfailing love and mercy.

Please restore my hope, renew my strength, heal my wounds and give me the courage to begin again. Help me to overcome my weaknesses, learn from my mistakes and become the person You have called me to be. Let my life become a testimony of Your mercy, faithfulness and transforming power.

Thank You because You have not given up on me. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

MY DECLARATION:
“I am not abandoned. I am not forgotten. I am not beyond God’s mercy. My past will not destroy my future. By God’s grace, I am rising again, walking with Him and fulfilling His purpose for my life.”
