“Though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.” – Habakkuk 2:3
A farmer plants a seed and covers it with soil. For days, nothing appears. The ground looks unchanged. He could conclude that the seed is dead but beneath the soil, something is happening.
Roots are growing before the harvest appears.
Perhaps you have been waiting for a long time.
Perhaps disappointment has weakened your confidence.
Perhaps your dream has been delayed.
Perhaps circumstances have made you ask, “Is it still possible?”
Do not give up.
Take your dream back to God.
Take your plans back to God.
Take your fears back to God.
Take your expectations back to God.
And do not only pray, “Lord, give me what I desire.”
Pray also, “Lord, show me what You desire for me.”
David was anointed king long before he sat on the throne. Between the promise and its fulfilment came years of preparation, battles and waiting. Yet God’s purpose was not abandoned.
“He that is faithful, which hath promised.” – Hebrews 10:23
Sometimes, God does not immediately change the situation because He is first preparing you for the situation.
The delay may be developing your character.
The waiting may be strengthening your faith.
The closed door may be redirecting your steps.
The season may be preparing you for what you have been praying for.
So, do not bury what God placed in your heart simply because it has taken longer than you expected.
Pray again.
Believe again.
Prepare again.
Trust God again.
“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD… to give you an expected end.” – Jeremiah 29:11
Your waiting is not necessarily wasting.
Your delay is not necessarily denial.
Your story is not finished.
Stay with God:
What He has placed in your heart, surrender to Him, nurture it by faith, and let His timing have the final word.
PRAYER :
O Lord, give me the grace not to give up. Strengthen my faith while I wait, give me wisdom to follow Your direction, and help me trust You even when I cannot see the outcome. May Your purpose for my life be fulfilled according to your time for me, in Jesus name, Amen.
